This was my 2nd time in 3 years attending this Japanese annual event. Bon Odori marked an important milestone in my photography journey 3 years ago. This was the event when I fall in love with (digital) photography, shooting my 1st event with my brother’s DSLR; and I never look back after that….

This was how I get involve in this impromptu shooting during Penang Bon Odori. I was suppose to meet up with TY to pass him the R1 zoom adapter for Bon Odori event shoot. Never expect the presence of Ryoko as well as the TT shooting, we had a quick 20 mins session at Fort Cornwallis which is just next to the Bon Odori before the event started. Here’s the outcome of my quick few snaps…..

While trying to upload some old photos to my gallery, I found this poor little monkey from my old collections. If I remember correctly this picture was taken during my 1st portrait shooting back in 2006. I guess he was the “unlucky” one as compare to those in the Botanical Garden because he was chained up and could not go anywhere freely as those monkeys living in Botanical Garden. This also makes me think of our PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim might end up like this monkey (arrested) again for the allegation of “carnal intercourse against the order of nature.” (What the…??)

My old pal Wan Meng paid me a visit with his little one – Baby Brian. It’s my first time to meet Brian hence I tried to take some photos of him; but he seemed not in good mood, or maybe he was a little camera shy… 
He was so cool in most of the photos…..
Although I am not as satisfy with the outcome, this was a real good experience for me on taking pictures of a baby. Perhaps I need to go through a lot more thinking & preparation on getting the attention and smiles from Brian next time….
My 2nd year joining Rojak Studio folks for this “crazy” event. OK, I have to admit, we were not there for the car racing thingy; that’s why we asked: Got Car Meh? (was there any race car?) 
I guess we enjoyed taking pictures of the Japanese Race Queens (as well as other local babes) than anything else; to the extend that we never aware of any race car throughout the event…..
It was a really enjoying trip for me to be able to do the shooting together with a bunch of portrait enthusiasts; sharing the laughter, joy & experience as well as “poisoning” each other with their latest gears & equipments….
