Hard Rock Hotel, Penang

December 3, 2009

Went to the newly opened Hard Rock Hotel Penang for family dinner last weekend. We had decided to try out the Seafood Buffet at the Starz Diner. For sure ya’ll know that this is not any of the foodblog out there that writes very detail comments about the food there, but I got a very simple comment based on my experience:

“The buffet sucks and not worth the $.”

The buffet cost about RM108++ for Saturday Seafood Buffet. I would consider myself not very picky on food, but still I am very disappointing with the food there with this kinda price. Don’t quite like ambient of the restaurant, it’s like some company’s cafeteria. I have tried out the Hard Rock Hotel in Bali, the food and restaurant environment was excellent but this one in Penang is nowhere close to it. Off course, if you are comparing to other Hotel’s buffet in Penang, I have no complaints with my experience at Parkroyal or Rasa Sayang.

If you plan to visit the hotel for dinner, I would recommend you to avoid the buffet but rather give it a try at the Hard Rock Cafe. I think the food served at Hard Rock Cafe will be pretty standard and should be less (or no) surprise.

Stanley & Chiew Khuin

November 19, 2009

I had been waiting for this day for years… Before this, I was like an 80 years old “uncle” keep on asking Stanley when will be his turn of getting married :) . And finally, it came. Man… Stanley and Chiew Khuin have been together for decades, even before I met my wife; they should have done this many many years ago. haha!

Their wedding was special to me because I have to become his “hengtai” rather than being the cameraman like what I used to be normally (yet, I still bring my camera to keh-poh). Also, I get to meet the “legendary” JENNY SUN! – the famous wedding photographer from Sydney Australia. I did not take a lot of photos that day; instead, enjoyed myself as his hentai/guest, and also to give minimum disruption to the official photographers who are hired to do the job. Sometimes, I just have to be IN the photos rather than BEHIND the camera, right? Well, another reason I wasn’t able to take as many photos is that I was almost drunk at the end of the luncheon. hahaha…..or maybe I should post the drunk blur shots?

TO STANLEY,

Bro, work harder every night ya! you have been falling behind, keep up the pace. kekekekekke!!

The legendary Jenny Sun… :) OP of the day!

My seat…:)

haha~ our “self” group photos…I am IN the photos, ok?

Live High

November 9, 2009

I love to take pictures from the flight window. Although I know the composition of the pictures will be limited, but I am not worry about that so much. I just like to enjoy the view from up high, whether it’s a whole bunch of tiny little tress, or the miniature houses and cars, or the ever changing cloudscape…

This is the pictures taken while I was on my way back from WeeLoon & Chev’s wedding. I was on my iphone listening to music while enjoying my clicking…

Khek Lik & Chan2

October 26, 2009

WeeLoon & Chevonne

September 28, 2009

20.09.2009; Muar, Johor.

Yeah, what a special day of the year: 20.09.2009 (2009 2009); and it’s been even special for Wee Loon and Chev as the couple has decided to tie the knot on this day…

Really thank Wee Loon for his warmest hospitality in Muar, but too bad I have little time to go around this famous town (being the fans of Namewee). He has done a great job arranging transport and accommodation for all his guests come from outstation.

Here’s the SDE slideshow I put up for their Wedding Dinner, some highlights of the tea ceremony session. I’m sure most of you know what to do with your “super fast” STIMYX line: pause the video, let it load before you play it to get uninterrupted viewing pleasure.

Enjoy! :)

Nesohu & Irene

September 15, 2009

Nesohu is one of my Rojak photokaki that we meet up to shoot Race Queens at Sepang the last 2 years. Honestly, I didn’t get to know much about this guy until his BIG day. Well, he is also a “toastmaster”.

I remembered I asked Teetoo: “toastmaster si hamit lai? (what is toastmaster)”…and Teetoo’s answer was  funny: “those who master in “toasting” things….like bread, wahahaha”…..haha, off course I know he’s just kidding…..but then I was really impressed to see how he proposed to Irene thru “the toastmaster way” and how he did his speech during his wedding day. Respect man!

Ok, enough talking, I am not a toastmaster. Let me share some of the morning session photos.

Daydream :: Grace ::

September 8, 2009

Bon Odori

July 26, 2009

Yet another interesting and fun shooting for the year. Although I missed the fun of shooting SuperGT event with the gang this year;), but at least this is something in return as “consolation prize”. Me and gang were there kinda late coming from Scott Kelby’s photo”talk” (as we “talk” more than “walk”). After having our “char koey teow” at the Clan Jetties, we walked all the way from there to the Esplanate to continue our shooting for this event.

As of every year, the event was full with joy, beutiful people, dances and performance. But I felt that there’re less performances by the Japanese traditional dance groups as compared to last year and wonder if this was the effect of the economic downturn? I would really love to see more of the traditional performances or at least our local performers would pick up more of the dances as part of the culture exchange program.
